From the Field: Back to Basics Update

For the second year in a row Samaritan’s Feet has partnered with the Office Depot Foundation for our back-to-school program, Back to Basics. Back to Basics aims to help families celebrate the start of school instead of dread the stress that comes from having to buy back-to-school clothes and supplies.

Samaritan’s Feet and our partners provide new pairs of socks and shoes and Office Depot Foundation provides sackpacks with school supplies for children around the country who otherwise would not have shoes that fit them or a bag to carry their books.

There will be seven distributions in June alone and we will have reached 4,750 children (and adults) through Back to Basics, providing Office Depot Foundation sackpacks for many of those children.

We at Samaritan’s Feet would not be capable of reaching these people if it wasn’t for our awesome partners and sponsors. We would like to thank Convoy of Hope, Calvary Assembly of God, ARAMARK, the League of Christian Women, Good Shepherd UMC, River Valley Church, the many unnamed churches and Pizza Ranch. We are grateful to the Office Depot Foundation for providing the sackpacks. Because of your willingness to serve alongside us, we have been able to make a positive difference in the lives of the many people we were able to reach through our Back to Basics distributions in June.
