Samaritan’s Feet Up For Two 2012 CLASSY Awards: We Need Your Help Before July 26th

Upon reading the title of this post, you are probably wondering, what in the world are the Classy Awards? Well, we won’t leave you wondering for long. The CLASSY Awards is the largest philanthropic awards ceremony in the country. Consider it the Oscars of philanthropy. In just four years, the CLASSY Awards have grown from a spotlight on San Diego charitable efforts to the largest nationwide event of its kind.

The CLASSY Awards are divided up into 16 different categories varying from Charity of the Year to Animal Advocacy and Service. To be considered for a CLASSY Award an organization or individual must be nominated. Nominations are eventually narrowed down to regional finalists where they are then released to the public for voting. Right now Samaritan’s Feet has made it to the South regional finals in both Charity of the Year and Health and Well Being.

HOW TO VOTE
In order for us to advance past the regional finalist stage, we need your help. Voting is easy and will only take you about 3-5 minutes. All you need to do is visit the Classy Awards voting page, http://www.stayclassy.org/classy-awards/vote, and click on the tab that says “South.” From there you can vote for each category or just a few. Once you have selected what organizations you want to vote for in each category, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the “Submit My Final Ballot” graphic. After that, you will be asked to sign in to Facebook to ensure that you only get one vote. Then you’re done. It’s that simple.

So, what’s in it for us if we win? Classy Awards winners go on to receive national media attention from major outlets like CNN, US Weekly, The Huffington Post and MTV ACT. Usually Classy Awards is just the launching pad for even more prestigious national recognitions. Two previous finalists have even gone on to receive President Awards. This recognition goes on to generate increased donations and awareness to further support the mission of the winning organizations.
