NIAAA
The National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) and Samaritan’s Feet have partnered together for an exciting campaign that will impact thousands of children in the U.S. and Brazil. The two organizations will enlist the support of athletic directors, coaches, students, parents and faculty to impact these children with a new pair of socks and a new pair of shoes. Samaritan’s Feet and the NIAAA will encourage athletic directors to ask their respective school communities to leave their shoes and socks behind for one game in order to change the life of someone in their own community or across the world in Brazil. Thousands of coaches across the country have taken off their shoes for one game to provide a voice for impoverished children.
By coaching a game in their bare feet, coaches provide a voice for the barefoot children. The response has been overwhelming! Thousands of coaches, from various sports, across the country have said “YES” to our request and have helped change the lives of children forever. The NIAAA is asking its members to support the program so that coaches and students from various sports can participate. We ask coaches to leave their shoes behind for a game to stand barefoot together to bring awareness about those in need; call your campuses to action and help raise shoes and funds. Become advocates for those who need our help.
Will you help us recruit your coaches from various sports to spend one game in their bare feet? Become a part of the barefoot movement by contacting Todd Melloh at tmelloh@samaritansfeet.org. We thank you for your consideration and look forward to having you and your school become a part of our barefoot family.
