The day started out with a barefoot breakfast at the Nationwide Garage, where the 400 guests checked their shoes at the door and bought them back.  A few hours before the breakfast, the garage was full of cars, tools and members of the crew.  In a few hours, Charlotte Arrangements, our event company, turned the garage into beautiful imagery of children receiving shoes and moving videos.  The guests were treated to music from National Recording Artist, Damien Horne, including the new Samaritan's Feet song. 

After the breakfast, we left the garage and walked one lap around the track and then onto Bass Pro Shops in Charlotte, NC for the start of the World Walk.  Manny led the throng of walkers onto the route as supporters cheered him on.  Manny's feet held up pretty well as we headed towards Gastonia, our first stop in our two week journey.  We stayed at the Marriott Hotel after walking 22 miles.  Onto Blacksburg!!!
