Regional Coordinator
Ron & Jackie Pegram have 35 years of ministry experience, including 18 months as Cheif Operations Officer of Samaritan's Feet in Charlotte, NC. They moved to the Jacksonville, FL, area after Ron finished cancer treatment at the University of Florida Proton Center. Ron said, "As the Florida Regional Coordinator I am excited about meeting many 'Samaritans' in this great state who will join in collecting new shoes and distributing them locally. Having been the one to set policy as the COO, I'll now have the opportunity to experience first hand the joy of working with volunteers as we bless the needy in Florida with shoes for their soles and hope for their souls. I look foward to helping others raise shoe through shoe drives and developing new regions across the state."

Go Barefoot for Bare Feet
Home
Samaritan's Feet conducted its first Shoe of Hope distribution in Miami in 2008, followed by others in Tallahassee and Gainsville in 2009. In 2010, sixteen baskestball coaches from thirteen universities, colleges and high schools across Florida have shed their shoes to coach a game barefoot and bring awareness of the need for shoes around the world. Ron and Jackie Pegram moved to Jacksonville on April 1, and will lead the effort in Florida to collect shoes and then distribute them to those in need throughout the state and around the world. Step 2 Let us talk you through your shoe drive
Samaritan's Feet staff will provide you with the information you need to make the most of your shoe drive. The opportunities and possibilities are endless!
Step 3 Select your shoe drive dates
Generally shoe drives take place over a four-week period. We have found shoe drives can be more effective when coupled with local or sporting events, festivals or other fundraisers.
Step 4 Promote your shoe drive
Samaritan's Feet will provide you with brochures, fliers and other literature you may need to spread the word about what you are doing. See how Susie Herges raised 4,123 pairs of shoes!
Step 5 Host your shoe drive
Collect new athletic shoes from friends, neighbors, co-workers, family and other acquaintances. Samaritan's Feet has found children's sizes 10 - 4 to be the most critical need.
Step 6 Pack and ship the shoes
You may ship your shoes to Samaritan's Feet headquaters in Charlotte, NC, or use a local drop-off location (if available). Let us know if you are interested in distributing the shoes in your area!
