Coaches will be encouraged to coach the game in their bare feet as close to January 19th (MLK Day) as possible. Dr. King’s impact continues to be felt through his teachings of serving and helping the poor. Samaritan’s Feet embodies that mantra and lives it out everyday. Coaches will honor his life by standing for the 300 million children around the world who don’t have a voice.

Volunteers from Samaritan’s Feet joined with officers from the DC Metro Police 7th District to bring Christmas joy to over 250 disadvantaged youth in Washington DC. Santa’s arrival by helicopter thrilled the children in attendance.

Austin Parkinson, former Northwestern High School athlete and current assistant men's basketball coach at IUPUI, traveled to Peru with Samaritan's Purse and a contingent of coaches and players to distribute shoes to impoverished children.

Students and volunteers from Samaritan's Feet Young Ambassador Program traveled to South Africa to deliver 2500 pairs of shoes to impoverished children.
