"Happy Feet", posted January 2, 2009, by Amanda Palluck

Soon the feet of more than 400 needy children in Haiti and Suriname will be looking and feeling good in a new pair of shoes. Shown above are the more than 400 pairs (sizes 3 to 9) collected so far at the University Book Store at South Dakota State University. The shoes will be donated to the Samaritan's Feet project, a North Carolina-based charity. Heading the local collection, which runs until Feb. 1, are SDSU's men's basketball coach Scott Nagy, his staff and team. From left to right, SDSU sophomore Hannah Krueger, junior Katie Conatser and recent graduate Andrea Domeier, all volunteers of the drive, show off the collection earlier this week.
