The Detroit Pistons designated their January 29th game against the Miami Heat as Community Night to benefit Samaritan's Feet.

Fans were encouraged to bring a new pair of shoes to the game, and a portion of each ticket sold was donated to Samaritan's Feet.   Detroit Pistons staff also participated in a shoe distribution at the Palace prior to tip-off.

At halftime of the game, Manny Ohonme received a check from PNC Bank in the amount of $9,000.  This money will be used for a March shoe distribution for children in need.

"The relationship forged between Samaritan's Feet, the Detroit Pistons, and PNC Bank is impacting thousands of children in the state of Michigan," remarked Manny.  "We are overwhelmed by the generosity of the people of Detroit and look forward to returning in March to bless children in this city with hope and a new pair of shoes."

In less than one year, Samaritan's Feet has partnered with nearly 500 volunteers from the 2009 Final Four Planning Committee, the Detroit Pistons, PNC Bank, and Detroit area churches to wash feet and provide new shoes to over three thousand children in the Detroit community.
