"Carolina Shoes of Hope Kicks Off!"

by Ron Pegram, C.O.O., Samaritan's Feet

The first day of the South Carolina Shoes of Hope initiative was held on Saturday, June 13th in four locations throughout York County. This state-wide project is a partnership between Lt. Governor Bauer, Samaritan’s Feet, Finish Line, United Way of South Carolina and many churches and schools. In the next few months, the Shoes of Hope program will visit each of the 46 counties throughout the state, providing up to 46,000 children with a new pair of shoes and a message of hope.

The four events in York County blessed 774 children! This was accomplished through the generosity of Finish Line and the tireless efforts of the York County United Way staff, who publicized the event and secured the over 100 volunteers necessary to make the day such a success.

If you would like to help in the statewide project, please fill out an info request at  www.samaritansfeet.org/contact . Samaritan’s Feet and our partners will mobilize volunteers for over 180 similar events throughout South Carolina between August and Thanksgiving. Come bless others, and be blessed!
