"It's like a war zone," says Courtney Cash, Director of International Services for Samaritan's Feet. "But in this case, there were no bombs. It all happened in 45 seconds."
Dr. Cash, recently visited Haiti in preparation for the Samaritan's Feet Hope for Haiti campaign that will distribute shoes to as many as 50,000 Haitians in the coming months. He went on to say, "The initial earthquake that has ravaged Haiti lasted only 45 seconds. Some say there were as many as 65 aftershocks, but by then, the damage was done. What you see now is destruction and desperation. Piles of rubble, people waiting in line for food, and relief workers trying to make sense of the task in front of them."
However, there is Hope for Haiti. Samaritan's Feet is partnering with several organizations and ministries that have been working in Haiti for decades. They have a long-term commitment to providing the Haitian people resources to meet the basic needs of survival and opportunities to grow and excel despite their challenging circumstances. Please take this opportunity to join our efforts as we change lives in Haiti. One by one, with shoes, food, medical aid and encouragement we can make a difference that can change a country.
