In partnership with CIS Development Foundation and the Humanitarian Fund “New Galichina”, Samaritan’s Feet has reached out in love and compassion to those struggling in poverty throughout Ukraine and the Republic of Georgia.
Over a two day span in August 2009, over one thousand citizens of Ukraine received hope, spiritual guidance and a pair of new shoes. In addition to the new shoes, each of the Ukrainians had their feet washed and were provided with food and other basic provisions.
According to Vitaly Kopchun, president of New Galichina, all of the shoe recipients were humbled and touched by their experience, and were encouraged by the love and hope they received from the Samaritan’s Feet Ambassadors.
Across the border in the Republic of Georgia, the Samaritan’s Feet alliance with CIS Development Foundation and the non-profit organization IMEDI 2008 allowed impoverished citizens of that country to be blessed with new shoes. The loving volunteers did not just provide shoes to those in need, but offered them hope, guidance, and kindness as they washed the feet of each individual, both young and old.
Samaritan’s Feet is deeply grateful for our partners throughout the world who help us supply both emotional support and physical necessities to those who are suffering.
