Haiti Disaster

Friends,

The past week our world has watched in horror as an earthquake lasting mere seconds resulted in the loss of tens of thousands of innocent lives.  The traumatic aftermath has left hundreds of thousands without food, water, or medical treatment.

Compassion for these suffering souls implores us to use our resources at Samaritan's Feet to alleviate the misery of these earthquake survivors. A guest on CNN News stated that one of the biggest needs in Haiti outside of food and medical supplies is SHOES. Consequently, we have developed a simple but effective strategy to provide shoes to the Haitian people:

1)100,000 pairs of new shoes will be transported from our California warehouse to the east coast, then shipped in 20 containers to Haiti.  Five thousand pairs of shoes will be shipped in each container.

2) Staff from Samaritan's Feet will be traveling to Haiti January 30th-February 4th to coordinate with partners who have an active and verifiable presence for disaster relief in Haiti. As our partners and medical teams provide life-saving medical care, Samaritan’s Feet staff will begin shoe distributions throughout the devastated region.

3)In mid-February, I will personally lead a team from Samaritan’s Feet to continue distributing thousands of pairs of new shoes to the suffering Haitian people.

CAN YOU HELP?
The cost of transporting one container of shoes is $5,000.  To reach our goal of 100,000 pairs of shoes, we must   ship 20 containers  to Haiti.  Will you help us help the people of Haiti by designating a gift to our Haitian Relief efforts?

IF YOU MAKE A FINANCIAL DONATION TO SAMARITAN'S FEET "HAITIAN RELIEF" BETWEEN JANUARY 11th and MARCH 1st, YOU CAN CLAIM THE DONATION ON YOUR 2009 TAX RETURN!
