This t-shirt was designed by Samaritan’s Feet Youth Ambassadors from Charlotte, NC. Students were given the opportunity to design the shirt for Samaritan’s Feet through the Youth Ambassador Program, which teaches them how to create and operate their own business. They are now using the business skills acquired through the Youth Ambassador Program, to raise funds to provide uniforms for students at Lorraine Primary School. The school is located in Rawsonville, South Africa.
Rawsonville, South Africa is approximately a one hour drive from Cape Town. It is surrounded by mountains and wine vineyards. Many families with children attending Lorraine Primary School live on the farms in one room homes that have 10 people living in each. If they don't live on the farm, they are living in squatter camps not far from the site.

While jobs are provided for families, the area is plagued with the highest rate of alcoholism and a very high rate of HIV. Many working the wine vineyards, struggle with supplying uniforms for their children because they only make $35 US dollars per week. After distributing shoes to children at this school and learning of its' challenges, Samaritan’s Feet Youth Ambassadors made the uniform project a top priority.
67 children are currently enrolled at Lorraine Primary School, which encompasses grades K-4. Many of the students walk three to five miles to get to school in the heat, rain and cold like temperatures each day. Like many other children Youth Ambassadors visited around the region, some learners at Lorraine Primary had uniforms, while others did not. Below is a sample of their uniforms.

You can help children at Lorraine Primary School today by making a donation of $15 for the t-shirt. Youth Ambassadors strategically designed the t-shirt seen above to help raise resources for the uniforms. One uniform cost approximately $15 US dollars. Your donation will help provide two uniforms each for the students at Lorraine Primary.
Any money donated beyond the cost of the project will be put back into the Youth Ambassador Program fund. The program gives at-risk youth and others a chance to develop a heart of compassion and a foundation for selfless service as they participate in various activities within the Youth Ambassador Program.
