Overview

The Assistant Events Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the organization in the development and implementation of its special event programs, and fundraising plans. This will be accomplished through developing, maintaining and expanding marketing channels/methodologies to the business community, churches, athletic organizations, educational institutions, health care groups and the general public.

The chosen candidate for this part time position (24hrs per week, schedule TBD) will be responsible for fulfilling two main goals of the organization: (1) provide support to help expand the organizations financial resources through events by increasing our donor base represented at our events, (2) and provide event coordination and administrative support to the current fundraising and event programs and activities within the marketing and development departments.

Primary Responsibilities

Events

  • Creating and updating marketing material for all events
  • Arranging all media exposure for events
  • Researching and securing auction items for upcoming events
  • Researching ideas for events. Such as…venues, themes, latest trends in fundraising, galas, etc.
  • Must be available to work events as needed. (this includes some evenings and weekends)
  • Help in creating lasting relationships with sponsors, vendors, etc.
  • Keeping the Event supplies organized, stocked and ready to go when needed

Marketplace

  • Keep the marketplace fully stocked
  • Organization and eye pleasing display of marketplace
  • Maintain spreadsheet on items sold, profit, etc.
  • Procurement of latest/seasonal items for marketplace
  • Timeliness of new products ordered and available in the marketplace

Database

  • Entering all current information into Samaritans’ Feet CRM/database system
  • Updating sponsors contact information as needed
  • Pulling reports as needed

Marketing, Media, & Community Relations

  • Maintain a working relationship with Samaritans’ Feet Marketing Department
  • Create relationships with local media outlets
  • Being responsible for stories, quotes, etc., from Samaritans’ Feet events to draw in new supporters and sponsors
  • Set up and management of Samaritans’ Feet exhibits at unique events. (i.e. trade shows)

Overview

This is a 20-hour per week role, with a TBD schedule, working and supporting shoe distribution projects, as closed and initiated by the Development team. The Development Project Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, implementation, and completion of shoe distributions projects, while remaining aligned with the strategy, commitments, mission, and goals of Samaritan’s Feet. This role will report to the Director of Development.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Join the Development team on an initial introduction “hand-off” call (after contract or application has been completed). This call will be initiated by the Development team and the purpose is to introduce the event sponsor partner contacts to the DPC
  • Gather basic information from the Development team and the event sponsor partner, for information and specifics needed for a shoe distribution (i.e. number of recipients, contact persons, addresses, dates, funding, etc.)
  • Plan and implement shoe distribution projects (coordinating with Development, Operations, Marketing, Finance, Volunteer Relations, and Logistic teams)
  • Help define project goals and deliverables for the event sponsor partner
  • Communicate weekly updates to Operations team on event specifics (join Operations call)
  • Communicate regularly with the event sponsor partner, as needed
  • Retrieve questions from the SF teams, as requested from the event sponsor partner
  • Retrieve answers from the event sponsor partner, as requested from SF teams
  • Manage invoicing with the Finance team (as directed by event date)
  • Create schedule and project timeline for shoe distribution (including delivery dates, press releases, volunteer engagement, etc.)
  • Track deliverables with various SF teams
  • Support and direct teams, as needed
  • Lead quality assurance for deliverables
  • Monitor and report on project progress, as well as any problems and solutions
  • Implement and manage change when necessary to meet project outputs (re-engage Development as needed)
  • Evaluate and assess result of projects
  • Follow-up with sponsor partner with “thank you” notes, any video or images captured, and any other follow-up needed

Education & Experience

  • Practical project management knowledge

Benefits

  • You will be entitled to 60 hours (7.5 days) of paid time off per calendar year. New hires will receive a prorated amount of PTO for their first year of employment, contingent upon their completion of the 45-day trial period
  • Eligible to attend 1 annual Samaritan’s Feet International Mission Trip (as coordinated with the Director of Development), after the 45-day trial period

Overview

The Grant and Donor Relations Specialist is responsible for developing and growing corporate and private foundation relationships as well as participating in the organization’s donor relations efforts.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Meet with teams to discuss program plans and strategies for grant funds; collaborate with team in developing proposals for new and enhanced programs/services to include: project designs (goals, objectives, & outcomes/deliverables), project timelines, budgets (external funds and internal funds), and sustainability plans
  • Write and edit grant proposals; research Office of Management and Budget (OMB), funding agency, and SF policies; ensure that proposed grant funded activities and budgets are in accordance with SF policies, and all Federal and funding agency regulations
  • Research and collaborate in developing strategic grant proposals and manage the grant reporting process
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and events on behalf the organization
  • Collaborate, research, identify and solicit corporate and foundation funding for regional and international programs/funding
  • Write other funding proposals as needed to individual or other donors
  • Create written donor relations communications as needed, including template donor thank you letters and executive director communications to donors
  • Edit and proofread development department communications as needed

Qualifications (Minimum Requirements)

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in English, writing, communications, nonprofit management or a related field
  • 2+ years related experience in writing or nonprofit development; preference given to those with previous grant writing experience
  • Skills include: writing, editing, project management, fiscal management and project administration
